Local Rides

Posted May 24

A few hardy souls showed up for a very, very windy ride around the lake last Thursday.  Kara & Scott even rode out from town into the 25 plus mph headwind!  Even though the bike riding wasn't that great we had a great little picnic and social hour out of the wind in the clubhouse at the boat club.

This week we are going to meet at "Another Round" at the country club for our Thursday night ride. They gave us good service and food two weeks ago and we had a nice time dining out on the deck so thought we'd we give them another try.  Plus, there's a possiblity of rain and if that happens we can just move inside.  We will meet at 6:00 p.m. for an hour ride followed by supper at 7.  If you are planning to stay for supper please RSVP me at the shop, 308-530-1897, via text or phone so I can let the crew at Another Round know how many to expect.

If anyone is interested in hosting a Thursday night ride give me a call at the shop.  It's no effort and just requires a lawn and in return all the bikers will love you ! !

Any questions or need more info - give me a call at the shop.

I have two pairs of Roller blades on consignment at the shop.  Sizes 12 and 13, in good condition.  If your paws will fit into one of these and you've been thinking about giving  Rollerblading a try, this might be a great opportunity.

I have a customer looking for a used Trail-A-Bike.  I know there is a lot of these setting in garage corners around town.  If you have one you would be interested in selling give me a call at the shop.  I also have a rider looking for a medium size dual suspension bike.  If you have one you might want to sell give me a call at the shop and I'll fill you in on the details.

I  also have a rider wanting to sell a Fuji Tahoe Pro 21"( fits 5'11" -6' 1").

I'm running a sale on Giant P-SL 2 and P-SLR2 tires.  They are sold as pairs as they are front and rear specific.  Regular price is $60 each.  Sale price $70 for a pair of 25c tires;

We have the NEBA cycling jerseys in stock. The Nebraska Bicycling Alliance mission is to cultivate a safer, more bicycle friendly Nebraska through partnerships, education, and advocacy.  Their vision is: A Nebraska where bicycling is a safe and enjoyable part of the Good Life.  You can find out more at their web page: http://www.nebike.org/  While you're there you might check out the memberships or maybe think about making a donation to this worthy cycling cause.

The North Platte Visitor Center is looking for anyone that has an extra bedroom and would like to help out a BRAN rider on Sunday night, June 5. Please call the shop by Wednesday night if you would like to help out.

We have the new Serfas tire sealant in stock. Tire Medic is a high performance sealant that does not seem to clump up like Stan's Sealant.  As you all know it's a contestant battle against the goat-heads in the North Platte area.  Over the years many companies have marketed magic bullet cure-alls to help us fight this battle. Most have been pretty good but we keep looking for the panacea.  We've had great luck with this product so I have high hopes ! !

Just a reminder that the shop will remain closed on Monday's so we can go ride our bikes also ! !

 To keep prices reasonable and reduce freight and shipping costs I will order once a week on Wednesdays with the parts available at 10 a.m. Friday.

We had a nice turn out at Ladies Night Out last Tuesday.  Lots of great questions got answered and I think fun was had by all.  Jean Cox won the Terry seat and Marie Quigley, Sue Darling and Ginny Entz won the socks.  Several riders have mentioned having another Ladies Night Out this fall.  If you would be interested let me know and also let me know what questions you would like answered or any information you would like covered.The weather is finally starting to look up so on May 9th, we are going to have our first Thursday night fun ride.  We will meet at 3 Margaritas at 6 p.m. for a one hour casual ride and return to 3 Margaritas at 7 for supper.  If you are pretty sure you are going to stay for supper please RSVP me at the shop, 530-1897, by noon Thursday so I can let the crew at 3 Margaritas know how many to expect for supper.
